Halloween Safety:
Keep the Scares Fun

Tips for Families, Drivers, Residents, and Communities — By Bryant Security

By Bryant Security Corporation October 14, 2026 South Florida

Halloween brings costumes, candy, and neighborhood celebrations throughout South Florida. At Bryant Security Corporation, we encourage families, drivers, and residents to plan ahead for a safe evening.

Be Visible and Stay Together

Carry flashlights or glow sticks and add reflective tape to costumes and candy bags. Adults should accompany children under 12. Older children should travel in groups, follow an agreed route, and have a set time to return home.

Choose Costumes With Safety in Mind

Costumes should fit properly to prevent trips, and masks should not block vision. Face paint can be a practical alternative.

Watch the Road

“Watch the road. Use sidewalks and cross at corners or crosswalks. Drivers should slow down, put phones away, and watch carefully for children near parked cars, driveways, and intersections.”
René Zerquera, President — Bryant Security

Make Your Home Welcoming and Safe

Light walkways and remove hoses, cords, and decorations that could cause falls. Remind children to accept treats at the door and never enter an unfamiliar home or vehicle.
